Future of poddery.com

From last few crisis incidents, it appears that maintaining poddery.com is a one man effort. I understand most of the poddery team got busy with other interesting/work stuff. It takes days of continous effort to fix things. The frustrating part is to have no option to delegate or postpone. It is a pressure situation and not having someone to even discuss things is making things worse. Manu still takes some interest, Fayad was there for knightswarm->gandi migration. I could discuss some options with scaleway issue with Anish.

My proposal: I will take my consulting charges for hours spend on poddery tasks. I will go ahead with a crowd funding campaign (which also seems having no takers).

If we fail to raise enough funds to proceed with this plan, I'll have to drop poddery and it seems with current situation, it may mean we drop poddery completely, if no one else steps up.

What's there to even discuss. You are working for it, you should get paid.

It's only reasonable that you get some compensation for all this work.

I am not much good with the technical stuff, but I could maybe do something for the crowd funding.

I would agree with this proposal because I can't step up and neither do I see chances of new people coming in. But, I do have a concern about how this might affect others from contributing. Would others now feel that "Since Praveen is being paid, let him take care of it."? Maybe, it would be a good idea to reframe the proposal to something like this. Praveen can spend up to 150 USD per day/8 hour and upto 24 days per year to get someone else to fix issues or fix things himself.

@akshay yes, I agree about the concern. But we can allow others in the team to take payment as and when they are willing to spend time. We can move similar proposals for others. I'd be happy to see more people stepping in. This could give one more incentive for people to spend time on maintaining poddery.com.

Since so many users are depending in this service now, we have to find a way to support it.

@jakobnorregard you are invited to the indiegogo.com campaign team. Join there and help with the crowd funding pitch.
