acknowledging that direct democracy may not scale is good enough for me.

i agree with the first paragraph. IMO the second paragraph, about scaling and fluid democracy, can go to FAQ now and can be added to the Constitution once we define the terms and conditions properly, in the current form it's ambiguous. this will also give us time to explore other options and to get more inputs.
