In order to learn lessons from the failures of different nation states we should talk about them accurately and with the language of failure rather than positivity and national pride

Accurate statements such as "The government of X country failed in their obligation to keep enough stockpiles of Y goods" should be used rather than not mentioning failures and replacing that dialogue with positive achievements in order to maintain national pride.

National Pride also has it's place, but shouldn't get in the way of learning from our mistakes.
