Restrict our main matrix group in English to associates only Closed Sat 3 Jul 2021 3:00PM
We can restrict our matrix group in English to Associates only.
We can keep it open and mention this requirement in topic. When someone new joins, we can point them to our constitution and ask them to be Associates if they want to continue talking in the group. This way we keep the option of allowing those who found us from other places to ask for more information.

It is a lot of time and effort wasted countering propaganda. We don't have to provide a platform for the ideas we oppose, they are already more powerful.

The pointless discussions are only causing frustration and wasting brain cycles.

agree, but since we are keeping the room open for anyone to join i think we need more clarity on when to restrict someone. for eg. say after 3 warnings backed by 2 or more members.

Give a one week window for new people discuss about Indian Pirates policies and structure Closed Sun 10 Mar 2024 10:00PM
We can now give an exception to new people in Indian Pirates Matrix/XMPP group a week's time to discuss about our policies before they join as associates.
What is the decision you need to make?
Allow an exception for new people for a week to discuss about our policy.
Why is this important?
Recently there were some people who wanted to discuss about some statements but since the group was only open to associates, we used FSCI Offtopic group, but that is not a sustainable option.
What are you asking people to do?
I think we can allow up to a week's time for newbies to discuss with us. Alternatively if this does not pass, we can think of making a dedicated group just for this purpose and only people with enough patience need to be there (there also we could have limits like a week for newbies if required).
For this proposal to pass, we need the majority of members to vote Agree.
If you Disagree, say why and what needs to change for you to Agree.

I think this will help genuine people to discuss and can stop the trolls

if this proposal passes we can also think about upgrading the matrix room version which is still at v1. this will also act as some kind of filter since only active members will join the upgraded rorom.
