Python Classes in high schools
The plan is to do a crowd funding campaign to raise some money and conduct python training in schools.
We have to come up with a syllabus first and then we can draft the campaign details.
Timeline
- Syllabus - in two weeks (by May 09 2015)
- Crown funding strategy - texts and promotional videos - by 16th may 2015
- identify the schools - by 16th may 2015
- start the campaign by 18th may 2015

I think we should start with drafting the syllabus. Two weeks deadline is approaching fast. Or is it already happening?

What are the ages of the students? And what are the objectives?

@nibrahim high school students. When @anisha , @akhilkrishnans and me went to Anchal West school for debian jessie release party, we asked Satheesh, who is a teacher there, about python in the syllabus. He informed teachers don't cover that part. So the idea is to try and improve that situation by community effort. We should target as many teachers as possible as well, so they can take these lessons more confidently.

We should make programming fun, interesting (content part) and accessible (community effort to bridge the gap between syllabus and practice) to them.

One approach that I can recommend is games. We can start with a simple stone/paper/scissor game. And then move to add some graphics, sounds etc. Then expand the game a little and go on like that. The "theme" will keep the children interested. We could throw in a few tools like audacity and gimp etc. so that they can make their own artwork/sounds.
