Highlighting positivity with the opposition as a campaign idea

My friend Richard gave me an idea that rather than focusing too much on why BJP is bad, we could also give some positive outlook on how the future will look if the alternative gets elected.

Richard gave an example of Brexit. The Brexit campaign related to people (although with lies). They emphasized how bright the future would look if Britain exited the EU. On the other hand, the Remain Campaign (to remain in the EU) was defensive and focused mostly on why Brexit is bad.

Our usual argument is that BJP is a threat to democracy and it is corrupt and fascist, while the other parties are corrupt but not fascist. Then we try to convince people to understand the nuance and vote in a way that kicks out the BJP.

I think @Pirate Praveen's idea of asking people to rate Indian democracy on the scale of 0-10 and asking if the opposition parties can increase the score seems like an idea aligned towards focusing on the opposition rather than overly attacking BJP.

So, can we highlight some positive things that the alternative party can bring to the table? What do you think about this idea? I would take some time to think on this.
