Future of Free Software Camp

I think Free Software Camp was a good activity and we got some new community members through this. And some old community members started taking more active roles. So I'd like to do this again. But some of us left FSF India working group over differences with its board and don't want to collaborate with them any more.

I think the rest of the organizing team should decide if they want to continue the camp in its current form in association with FSF India.

So I'd like to propose forking the Free Software Camp idea under a different name without associating with FSF India. I'd also like this event to focus on diversity, something we discussed last time and thought of doing it for future editions.

I'd like to hear thoughts from members of current Free Software Camp organizing team and also from the rest of the community about it.

So this could be two events if someone want to continue Free Software Camp under same format and name. Else a separate event.

i'm with forking as it can give us more flexibility. we can also discuss about hacking the structure to make it more effective.

Though I loved the name Free Software Camp (fscamp as well) but I believe a fork both in name and spirit is the way to go. Moving the (forked) camp fully under FSCI would be fine but naming it "FSCI camp" would be weird as such (maybe a play on the word Free Software or something like that?).

Thanks to everyone volunteered, we have created matrix/xmpp bridged group with all the people who volunteered to take this forward.

This would be similar in spirit to Free Software Camp with a focus on increasing diversity like Outreachy.

With the caveat that I'll speak up about the mistakes and problems with the larger "free software movement" if there's a situation where it comes up.
