Constitution Ammedment: Add a Preamble
Add a preamble explaining who we are, what our purpose and what makes us different. I would suggest adding the first two slides which are 'Why Indian Pirates?' and 'Fix what's broken' to the preamble. Preamble would give a proper context upon which the constitution could be read. Let's discuss the above questions and add them to our constitution.

Agree. So we can have Preamble with these sections. Should we put everything in preamble without splitting it to articles or split like below? Preamble, Article 1: Who are we?, Article 2: Why Indian Pirates? Article 3: What is special about us? Article 4: Fix what is broken.

this reminds me of a previous thread https://codema.in/d/hFHxr4Co/the-pirates-constitution. i think we can still take valid points from it. also, i think some of the points in the beginning of the Constitution needs more clarification.

here's a criticism of the Constitution i wrote years ago: https://papers.goblinrefuge.com/u/ambadyanands/m/criticisms-and-suggestions-on-indian-pirates-constitution/
(try this link if the above one doesn't work).
i think it's a good time to discuss them again.

Constitution amendment: Add a preamble Closed Tue 7 Jul 2020 9:00PM
We are going with the amendment suggested by @Syam G Krishnan but open to better wordings in future.
Create a Preamble and add,
-
Who are we?
We are a small group of individuals engaging in political activities with the aim of becoming a political party some day*.
Why Indian Pirates? Fix What is Broken. (Move existing sections under this).
-
What is special about us?
We are not a family controlled party, we are also not a cadre party, everyone has a voice, every decisions we make is public (transparency), our funding source is public.

I feel like the language could be made more formalized and unambiguous. But I don't want to block this because we can always discuss it later and keep making it better.

prefer to go with we are a group of people
also, language can be improved later as @Pirate Bady mentioned

@Pirate Bady we will go with these for now, please suggest better wordings. @Syam G Krishnan I think that change can be made. @Akshay the prerequisite is at least 100 people in a state, so we are quite a long way from that. Once we have that we may have to adjust our constitution to match the requirements of Election Commission of India. Once 100 people sign a resolution to form a party with a constitution compliant with Election Commission's requirements, we become a registered political party.
