Full members will commit to spending one hour per month working on Indian Pirates campaigns

We have a lack of engagement in campaigns and proposals put forward, despite having hundreds of participants. If members agree to giving an hour of their time each month we can do much more work getting campaigns up and running, reach more people and grow the organisation.

True that. I would say towards the beginning we can focus on organizing a monthly scheduled meeting so that everyone comes together and intentionally discusses what we need to do.

I think one hour meeting to start with and lets see how that goes. You can start a proposal here, so its easy for us to track the numbers.

then send out a Calender so we get a time for the Meeting when most are available.

Would a meeting poll work?

I think that will work. May be find a specific day in the month, like every third Saturday or Sunday for example would help.

Add focus to discussions by requiring an outcome oriented approach

Outcome

Article 4: Section 4: Guidelines for effective debates should be added to the constitution.

I think one way could be forcing ourselves to create some outcomes out of these debates - it could be a statement, campaign, addition to manifesto or constitution, we should come up with a conclusion. Publish this as a guideline to discussions on our website.

I'm not saying we should stop other discussions completely, but this could be served as a reminder for people stay focused. When discussions go aimlessly, we can show them this. We can go with only a reminder for now and think later if that does not work.

Note: this is complementary to what Vik proposed in the start of the thread.

Update: I think we can add it to Article 4: Organizational Goals in the constitution.

Article 4: Section 4: Guidelines for effective debates: Forcing ourselves to create some outcomes out of debates - it could be a statement, campaign, addition to manifesto or constitution etc. We should consciously strive to come up with a conclusion and remind others participating in discussions.

I suppose that's how Parliamentary discussions work. Oriented towards an outcome.
