Clean energy won’t save us – only a new economic system can

This is a great article! An economy that would solve our issues would be one where the people have love for each other and moderation in their behavior (including simplicity in processes). Fortunately, it's not a new idea. Such an "economy" exists within happy families and among friends and it even worked socially during the medieval ages.

To achieve this today, however, is difficult, but not impossible. I believe that if we essentially focus on 2 things, we can have this economy.
1. Better options for family and the poor.

The family unit forms the foundation of a society and the stronger the average family, the stronger the society.
A society is judged by how it treats its poorest members.
If our laws, policies, and mandates all keep the family unit and poor in mind, we will accomplish this automatically and passively. This will allow love and moderation to permeate society.
2. Encouraging small family businesses rather than large expansionist businesses.
Small family businesses allow for businesses to interact more directly with and remain more accountable to the community, whereas larger businesses do not, which, in turn, also teach love and moderation.

Additional ideas:
A. Civics classes could be held in every school once a week. These classes would teach the importance of helping each other (instead of only helping ourselves), cooperating while achieving higher standards (instead of only competing), and moderating our behavior by yearning to supply only what we need (instead of yearning for infinitely more). This would change the next generation by teaching them love and moderation.
B. If the Pirates were to travel to each city holding seminars about the importance of such concepts while working with local charities and community groups, we could further catalyze such an economic shift.
