Stable mobile data connection

Librem 5: Compared to mobian bookworm, mobile data connection in mobian trixie breaks very frequently and only work around is to use hardware kill switch to reset the modem.

OP6/OP6T: Mobile data connection drops when waking up from suspend (there is conflicting reports, so more people confirming it will be good).

FLX1: data connection breaks often (when signal is poor, it does not come back unless mobile data toggle is manually turned on and off again). It should ideally do a few retries.

As per https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/OS-issues/-/issues/328#note_249493 changing autosuspend_delay_ms from 500 to 2000 makes it stable. That is probably a work around and ideally we should get this working with 500 for better battery life or measure how much extra power this increased auto suspend delay is causing and decide.

Also applies to OP6/6T

Mobile data is stable over here for Oneplus 6T.

I do yes (OP6T). I have automatic suspend on, and relatively frequently find the data connection has gone when it wakes. It requires a reboot to reconnect. I don't remember off-hand if it also sometimes happens without suspending, will monitor.

I'm not sure if this is the same as the issue on the L5, it seemed similar enough that I'd grouped them.

This is highly dependent on hardware, we have to tackle each device independently.

Even though most Librem 5 users stick with PureOS and crimson won't have this issue, this will eventually have to be fixed for dawn. So not sure if we should wait for crimson release and Purism to start working on dawn? Ideas? @Guido @devrtz ? I can confirm data connection is stable again after downgrading from mobian trixie to mobian bookworm.

You're likely looking at an L5 specific issue and I think it's not fixed (so you're likely mostly lucky on crimson). Mobile Data is stable on e.g. PP or OP6 (a comment above suggests otherwise) for me .

These issues are very much device dependent.
