AYUSH

AJ Akhilesh Jamdar Public Seen by 373

As the pirate party it is our duty to focus on realities rather than fiction. If someone believes that the earth is flat, it is their personal opinion and not a factual truth. We cannot have the state actively support and promote such opinions with tax payer money.

The Modi led BJP government is responsible for the formation of The Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy, abbreviated as AYUSH.

I propose that we focus on life sciences instead of pseudo sciences like Homeopathy, Naturopathy etc. The state further promotes yoga, which is fine, but not from the perspective of curing cancer or aids.

I agree with this point. There is no reason for the federal government to administrate what should be a citizen's matter.

According to subsidiarity, the person/group closest to the problem should be given the chance to solve that problem. In this case, the person in need of such remedies should be the one to investigate/pursue/administrate such remedies or to defer to the next level (local hospitals/clinics/advisers). For the federal government to create such a department creates an unnecessary administrative burden on the government and tax burden on the people.

However, I'm not sure the government should have a department of life sciences either. Universities, hospitals, and research associations already contribute to the common good in this field, so in what additional way would a department of life sciences contribute to the common good as well? (maybe laws, research ethics, etc?)

You are right, there is no need for a department of life sciences. There just needs to be a higher allocation of funds to Hospitals and Research institutions.

All India Pirate Party Conference Closed Sat 10 Dec 2016 11:12AM

If we are to push forward and succeed as a party, we need to have a large number of members meet at a location to organize, debate and discuss issues, going beyond the internet. It is therefore proposed that we host an annual conference in a city agreed upon by majority of the attendees.

So, how many of you would take part in this? We can maybe even book a meeting room depending upon the members who would be willing to participate. If such an event is agreed upon, I wouldn't mind traveling anywhere within India. Apart from the location, we must also come to agreement on the dates/date of the meeting.
