[Redoing the poll]

Change,

Article 2: Rights

Section 1: Anyone supporting our basic principle can be an associate member

to,

Article 2: Rights

Section 1: Anyone (any nationality) supporting our basic principle can be an associate member

Note: Since associate member needs support from 2 permanent members, I think it is enough to ensure only significant contributors get voting rights.

I still stand with my initial opinion.

"Even though I would go with the decision of the group, I suggest to include
* Indians - Living in India or Abroad
* Non-Indians - Living in India

I don't see (yet) how Non-Indians who doesn't live in India can understand our situation.
"

I believe my proposition makes Vik eligible for inclusion. Right?

I'll just reiterate my stance here

Everything need not be put to vote. And everyone need not become members. There needs to be some kind of a membership that allows one to participate and there needs to be some kind of a consensus building system that allows decisions to be made irrespective of the number of people in support/opposition.

I'm not in a position to think about and propose such an amendment right now.

And I can't quite figure out which side to take on this amendment either.

@balasankarchelamat do you think non Indian who don't live in India will get voting rights without significant contribution/acceptance by at least two members? Isn't the support from two members criteria enough to stop anyone who is not contributing significantly from getting voting rights?

Then why do we need an amendment?

"Anyone" doesn't have any filters. Why should we explicitly say "(any nationality)" ?

@balasankarchelamat because I never thought about it when I wrote it. I assumed only Indians would want to join "Indian Pirates". So we have to clarify and remove any confusion.

BC

Balasankar C Mon 30 Nov 2015 11:25AM

But, we never told "only Indians". Anyway, I agree with your point now. Can you re-do the poll?
