We can priorities the expenses. Printing pamphlets come to my mind. Volunteer expenses (travel and stay). We can list them as we go.

@praveenarimbrathod okay.. do you have a set moto for your campaign? .. like when you advertise using pamphlets what would you print .. like a tag line or something?

@arjun can you create a draft campaign on indiegogo.com and invite me? We can draft it there directly. Major points.

1. Indian Pirates, major points, transparency, peer 2 peer, civil rights etc
2. What is our goal of contesting elections
3. Why do we need money.

@praveenarimbrathod I'm not next to a laptop right now.. Will take sometime.. Create one and invite me and I'll get to it once I'm next to my laptop

We have to find one. My suggestion. It should highlight the things unique to us, our flat and inclusive structure and transparency.

3. Do you trust any parties to do it for you?
4. You can bring the changes yourself if you come together.
5. Indian Pirates is a platform of the people.
6. Everyone is a leader here
7. We are transparent in all decision making
8. We stand for human rights
9. We stand for social justice

Human rights,Privacy, Transparency are the 3 mains for Pirates.

By participatory democracy you meant direct democracy right? Where people have a say in the decision making?

Everyone has a vote, a choice and a chance to participate.

Do you guys think we need a youtube channel? or a twitter account? .. i feel a twitter account is a must .. not sure about youtube channel though

A Youtube channel will give us a lot of popularity. That is a must have

Do we have any creative people in our group?.. or any common friends who would like to help?
Like a poster or two for our group would be nice.
Also , a nice video ..nothing elaborate .. even 1-2 min videos explaining who we are and what we stand for? ..

@arjun I won't be in Trivandrum. I would be in Pune for my University Exams, whose schedule is conflicting with the election dates.

@michaeljohnsinclai if everyone agrees i'd gladly shift .. i personally am not very fond of loomio - looks outdated and i have to depend on emails for notifications! .. but i think we discuss everything here on loomio so that its out for the public to see ..right?

Loomio is still good for fast discissions

@michaeljohnsinclai we use xmpp for real time chat, should be comparable with slack. piratesin@conference.diasp.in if you are on android, you can use conversations.

@arjun the thing about loomio is sub groups. Those who did not like the idea of contesting elections are not bothered. Plus, its public and using threads, we can organize discussions. It allows you to subscribe as you want, group, sub group or thread.
