Introduce and describe the topic
Using wpa_supplicant usually won't contribute to better and seamless WiFi experience, IWD daemon under NetworkManager usually does much better job.
Why is this important?
WiFi is one of most used features. There is huge emphasis on long battery life and reliable WiFi connection
What must be done?
For distribution to consider switching to iwd backend, there needs to be CI coverage for IWD done within NetworkManager repository. I don't assume any volunteer will do this work, and seems Intel is not interested as it's not in scope of their IWD work.
I assume then someone could be motivated to do this work by old fashioned $$$.
