Appeal to citizens for directly funding the media which supports true journalism

Let's list the media outlets on our website which still stand for the truth rather than being Modi's parrots. They are also risking their lives in the process. Whenever possible, we should try to back them up financially and appeal to citizens through our website to donate/fund them. Godi Media(Modi's propaganda tool) also relies on TRP or number of viewers watching heated debates, so users boycotting them can help because they are funded to spread misinformation and if we boycott, that can be reduced.

If journalism totally dies, we won't even know the truth. Now, at least there is a chance that people get to know the truth.

I have a list and criteria here https://ravidwivedi.in/good-journalism/.

Let's publish the list of media we endorse and appeal people to support them.

I think these are the media which we can vouch for:

  • The Wire https://thewire.in

  • NDTV

  • The Hindu

  • Scroll.in

  • Newslaundry

The Wire, The Hindu does write against govt. The Scroll I know is good. I'm not sure about others. I think starting with a small list and slowly expanding is a better approach here. The Telegraph is good too.

Reading this tweet by the chief-in-editor of The Print, I am having second thoughts about its mention.

I have reduced my list now. I would recommend you to look at newslaundry. Their reports are detailed and insightful. For example, check out their reporting on central vista redevelopment project https://www.newslaundry.com/central-vista. Plus, they get money only through subscribers, without any ads.
