mediawiki -> git based markdown plan
@balasankarchelamat @ambadyanands we can summarize the discussion and decide on a plan.
Motivation: maintaining a wiki without spam is a pain. If we get more volunteers to fight spam, that would be one option.
- Being able to edit easily. I think gitlab web interface is sufficiently user-friendly, though we will need a tutorial as it is not as straight forward as clicking the edit tab.
- About preserving history, I can let go of it if point 1 is satisfied. If we can get a good mediawiki to markdown convertor then that is nice.
- If we can write a url rewrite rule to map old urls to new, that would be very nice. Though this is a wishlist.
